4th of July Soapbox Derby

Celebrate 250 years of American independence by joining Nevada Day's 4th of July Soapbox Derby! 🇺🇸 Community members are invited to build and race their own gravity-powered cars in this exciting competition honoring the spirit, history, and pride of our nation.

Whether you're engineering for speed or just love the thrill of the race, all skill levels are welcome to compete. Top finishers in each division will take home a prize — so bring your best build and show us what you've got!

Open to juniors ages 8–12, intermediates 13–15, seniors 16–18, and adults 19 and up. Gather your friends, family, and neighbors and be part of this fun and meaningful celebration as we honor 250 years of freedom, unity, and the American spirit.

Participant Waiver

Acknowledgment of risks

Participation in the Nevada Day Soapbox Derby involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

Physical injury from contact with the ground, barriers, or other vehicles
Collision with course structures, hay bales, or other safety barriers
Equipment failure including wheel, axle, steering, or brake malfunction
Loss of vehicle control at speed
Injury to spectators or other participants
Environmental conditions including heat, sun exposure, and uneven terrain

I have read and understood the event rules, safety requirements, and age division regulations provided by Nevada Day. I understand that participation is entirely voluntary.

Release of liability

In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Nevada Day Soapbox Derby, I (and my parent/guardian if I am under 18) hereby voluntarily agree to RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE Nevada Day, its officers, directors, volunteers, employees, sponsors, agents, and the City/County in which the event is held, from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death that may be sustained while participating in or traveling to and from this event. This release includes claims based on the negligence of the released parties, to the fullest extent permitted by Nevada law.

I confirm that I have read this entire waiver, understand its contents, and agree to its terms voluntarily. If the participant is under 18, I confirm I am their parent or legal guardian and consent to their participation on their behalf.
