The Parade Rules are set forth by the Nevada Day, Inc. Board of Directors and apply to all Parade Entries.

Nevada Day Inc. has the authority to subject any Parade Entrant who refuses to abide by any of the rules to further fines up to $5000, removal from the parade, and/or suspension from participating in any future Nevada Day Parades or Events.

***Nevada Day Parade – Zero Tolerance Policy

The Nevada Day Parade has a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, or threatening behavior directed at parade board members, marshals, or any volunteers.

Anyone engaging in such behavior will be immediately removed, disqualified from parade activities, and banned from participating in future parades, including next year’s events.

Help us ensure a respectful, safe, and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

PARADE SAFETY - Our #1 priority.

NO throwing items from a vehicle or float. This includes throwing candy. Flying items can injure spectators or bounce back into the road, causing children to rush into the street while the parade is moving. *** Any entry not respecting this rule will be FINED $500.*** The fine must be paid prior to applying for next year's parade, or the entry will be automatically disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS. Please distribute ALL ITEMS, including candy or any giveaways, hand-to-hand by walking over to the spectators on the parade route and handing items to them.

No one may step on or off a float or any motorized entry while it is on the parade route. Children shall not be placed on or removed from any float or vehicle while it is moving.

There should be no more than 20 to 30 feet between each entry. No large gaps, PLEASE! Parade Marshals have the authority to enforce safety rules and maintain consistent spacing between units. Forward motion must be maintained by all entries during the parade. Entries experiencing difficulties must notify a Parade Marshal immediately and move to the side of the street so others may pass. Refusal to adhere to the Marshal's instructions will result in immediate disqualification from future parades.

ALL PARADE ENTRIES

Applications

Each parade entry must have its own completed entry application form. No piggybacking with other entries. Incomplete and/or illegible applications will be returned and will not be considered. Each accepted entrant will be notified by email. In the event your entry is not accepted, your application and entry fee will be returned. Nevada Day, Inc. reserves the right to deny any entry application it deems inappropriate.

Line-Up Parade Morning

The parade route is on Carson Street, running north to south. The staging streets are the side streets that will funnel out onto Carson Street once the parade starts.

After the parade line-up has been finalized, parade participants will receive staging directions via email. This will include the name of the side street where each participant will be staging and their assigned parade entry number.

On the morning of the parade, parade participants should enter the staging street at the far end of that street. This means that as entries proceed down their assigned staging street, Carson Street will be in front of them. Parade entries should line up with odd-numbered entries on the left side and even-numbered entries on the right side, in numeric order. Please ensure the center of the staging street remains clear at all times.

Once parade entries arrive at their assigned staging street, Parade Marshals will hand out printed parade entry numbers. (You can't miss them—look for the orange vests labeled "Parade Marshal.") Please ensure that your parade entry number is taped onto your entry before proceeding onto the parade route.

Parade entries must line up in the spot they are assigned. Entrants may not change their line-up location or entry order without prior approval from Nevada Day, Inc.

The parade will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. Entrants are expected to be in formation by 9:00 a.m. and may be excluded from the parade if they are late.

Each entry must have a responsible person, capable of moving the entry if needed, who remains with their float/group/entry at all times. Failure to follow this rule will result in disqualification.

**RULE - No Campaigning Each year, the rules are reviewed and may be subject to change in the future.

The biggest complaint we receive regarding the parade is "too many political entries." Over the years political entries have been responsible for heightened spectator tensions, extending the parade time and a multitude of trash we are forced to clean up the next day.  For these and other reasons, the Nevada Day, Inc. Board of Directors has voted this a "No Campaigning" year.

Elected Officials holding current office in Nevada may apply to be in the parade as a political entry to represent the office they hold.  They may NOT campaign for future elections on the parade route.

There will be no passing out campaign materials or displaying campaign signs. This includes signs promoting ballot measures or voting on questions.
