Ronnie Johnson Family of Clowns

Ronnie Johnson started his group in 1973 in Carson City.  He has been in the Nevada Day Parade 27 times.  The original group consisted of Ronnie Johnson, Sr., Ron Johnson, Jr., Jeanette, and Barbara Johnson.

Over the years that number has changed to include Ronnie Johnson, Sr., Ron Johnson, Jr., and his wife Paula, Rona Kaneff, Jeanette Wagers, Barbara Maddox and Grandkids, David Wagers, Tristika Maddox, Alethea Johnson, and Joseph Robert Johnson.  Special friends and relatives include Sandie (Sam) Arnn, Monica Hoy, and Nikki Arnn.

They have appeared in many events other than Nevada Day including Carson Valley Days, Plumas County Fair, Yerington Celebration, Dayton Valley Days, and Carson City and Fernley Fourth of July celebrations.

Johnson has been in Nevada since 1972.  A native of California, he is a well known former race car driver.  Active on local tracks until 1985, he started his career in California with old jalopies from Hollywood, midgets, sprint cars, and late stocks.

The family history of clownism goes back to his grandmother and grandfather, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Johnson who appeared with the Masonic clown groups.  Ronnie Sr. began his clown career in 1951 and has never stopped clowning.
