Comedian George Gobel was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1920. Known to his fans as "Lonesome" George, Gobel possessed a lovable wit that won the hearts of his audience. Popular in the 50s and 60s, he hosted The George Gobel Show on television in the mid-50s and starred in a number of low budget movies. Gobel passed away at age 71 in February, 1991.Forest Hall served as Nevada Day Parade Chairman from 1952-1967. |
