Nevada Day Pancake Breakfast
Hosted by Carson City Republican Women

The Carson City Republican Women’s Club will be holding their annual
Nevada Day Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, October 31, 7:00am until 9:30am.

The public is invited to attend this delicious breakfast of pancakes, ham, scrambled eggs, orange juice and coffee.  The price is $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children under 10.  The cost has not increased for over 10 years.

This event will take place at the Governor’s Mansion, 606 N. Mountain, Carson City in the Nevada Room.  This traditional event began over 29 years ago as a group of Young Republicans, headed by Marie Bensinger, was looking for a means of attracting interest in their newly formed organization.  It was taken over by the Carson City Republican Women in 1982.

Carson City Republican Women’s Club President, Rae Tooley, said “the breakfast is not intended as a fundraiser.”  “ The proceeds will be given in the form of $1000.00 scholarships to two senior students, one from Carson High School and one from Dayton High School.”
“This event has traditionally served as a pre-parade gathering point for Republican office holders and potential candidates, offering them an opportunity to visit with the many attendees on a personal basis,” Tooley said.  “Everyone is welcome.  In fact, we even encourage Democrats to come and meet our Republican officials and residents.”

She also noted it is an easy walk form the mansion to the parade route, offering everyone an opportunity to enjoy some of Carson’s older streets and historic homes on what she knows will be a beautiful fall morning.
