Nevada Day Salutes President Lincoln
Commemorate 145 Years Of Statehood

Parade As the state with the largest formal celebration honoring its admittance into statehood, Nevada commemorate 145 years of statehood during the annual Nevada Day Celebration, October 30, 31 and November 1, 2009 in Carson City.

The highlight of the celebration is the Nevada Day Parade with the theme for our 2009 parade "A Salute to President Lincoln".

On October 31st, 2009, The parade meanders its way down Carson Street from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on October 31st. The parade kicks off with a 8:00 a.m. hot air balloon launch on Carson Street (weather permitting...keep your fingers crossed!) followed closely with a 10:00 a.m. flyover of F-18 Hornets, F-16 Falcon, from the Fallon Naval Air Station and C-130 Hercules from the Nevada Air Guard. The parade features floats, marching bands, and a variety of entertainment. The parade route begins at the intersection of William and Carson streets and ends at the intersection of Stewart and Carson streets.

Awards in 35 categories are given including one for best float, best band, best mounted equestrian group, and best historical.
