ReMax/Nevada Day Balloon Launch

Join RE/MAX Realty Affiliates in celebrating Nevada Day with the RE/MAX Nevada Day Balloon Launch on Carson Street on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 8:00am (just before the Nevada Day Parade). The launch will be in front of the old Gottschalks - by the Dutch Bros Coffee. Starting with a mass launch, Team RE/MAX will fly its signature hot air balloon along with 15-20 other hot air balloons, to help commemorate the day in 1864 when Nevada became the 36th state in the union.

A note from Kathryn Griggs, the RE/MAX Pilot:
The Nevada Day celebration has had balloons flying in the morning over the parade route for as long as I have been living in the area, over 10 years. The balloon part of the celebration has been organized either by me or by another local pilot Gary Peterson. We launch around 8:00am, some of the balloons take off right on Hwy 395, near Stewart St. and some take off from a nearby field. The balloons fly for about an hour, and are usually down before the parade even starts. Balloons need to fly shortly after the sun comes up, that is when the winds are the calmest for the day. Two hours after sunrise the winds can pick up and it is not safe to fly balloons when it is windy.

Sponsor a hot air balloon before the Nevada Day Parade and enjoy a wonderful 45 to 60 minute free-flight above Carson City! (weather permitting)

Cost is $300 for a party of two adults and you can hang a 4' x 3' foot company banner off the basket during your flight.

Departure time is 8:00am, Saturday, October 29, 2011 from the Carson Mall on South Carson Street. Sponsors will be transported back to the parade route from the landing site in plenty of time to see the parade.
