Join RE/MAX Realty Affiliates in celebrating Nevada Day with the RE/MAX Nevada Day Balloon Launch Spectacular on Carson Street near the capital, on Saturday, October 31 at 7:30 - 8:00 AM (just before the Nevada Day Parade). Starting with a mass launch, Team RE/MAX will be flying its signature hot air balloon along with 15-20 other hot air balloons, to help commemorate the day in 1864 when Nevada became the 36th state in the union. “It’s an excellent opportunity to help celebrate our state’s heritage,” said Phil Reith, Managing Broker of RE/MAX Realty Affiliates in Carson City.

RE/MAX Realty Affiliates and its agents also invite you to a fundraiser benefiting the Children’s Miracle Network at Mills Park Sunday, November 1, 2009.

A note from Kathryn Griggs, the RE/MAX Pilot:
The Nevada Day celebration has had balloons flying in the morning over the parade route for as long as I have been living in the area, over 10 years. The balloon part of the celebration has been organized either by me or by another local pilot Gary Peterson. We launch around 8:00 a.m., some of the balloons take off right on Hwy 395, near Stewart St. and some take off from a nearby field. The balloons fly for about an hour, and are usually down before the parade even starts. Balloons need to fly shortly after the sun comes up, that is when the winds are the calmest for the day. Two hours after sunrise the winds can pick up and it is not safe to fly balloons when it is windy.
