The honor of your presence is requested in celebration of Nevada's 14 4th. year of statehood!
The 1864 Grand Ball
will be from 7:30-11:30 p.m., Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Piper's Opera House,
12 North B Street in Virginia City, Nevada. Dress for the Grand Ball is Traditional 1864 Victorian Costume Ball - Victorian or Elegant Western or Formal. As in the past, selected musicians will provide music for ballroom dancing, the Grand March, and other Victorian Reels. Whether you wear modern cocktail attire, or 1860s hoop-skirted ball gowns, tuxes or Civil War uniforms, you're bound to have a good time. It's fun even if you don't dance! The Grand March provides an opportunity for those in 1860s party attire to dance around the room. The women are beautiful in their gowns and the men are most handsome in the old-fashioned tuxes or military uniforms. For those of you who love to dance, you will enjoy the opportunity to learn a couple of the Victorian Reels. Monies go to Piper Opera for the restoration project. For more information call (775) 847-0433.
